New CTC courses for 2011
CTC already has the largest range of cycle and mountain bike based courses available, both in terms of courses and locations. Not content with this, we are setting out an ambitious programme of additional courses to be launched through 2011 to meet the enormous variety of needs and desires from the public, employers and riders.
Courses will fit within the existing CTC courses that already do a great job in aiding Leaders and Instructors delivering cycling and mountain biking activities. These new programmes will, of course, also fulfill CTC's requirements for high quality, sustainablity, consistency and accessibility.
CTC's extensive staff tutor network will be used to the full to deliver these courses, but will also be substantially extended with the launch of the new Trainer qualification.
Course Types
New courses launched through 2011 will include:
- Skill Instructor Urban for those involved in location based skills development delivery such as BMX and pump tracks, or on site activity delivery.
- Trainer for those wanting to deliver CTC's Young Leader, Maintenance and Ride Supporter courses.
- Disability module for leaders and instructors.
- Maintenance course scheme is be extended to include the new:
- National Standard Instructor maintenance course supporting Bikeability instructors skills
- Fundamentals course covering basic maintenance and bike adjustments
- Fleet Maintenance course which covers the implementation of maintenance of bike fleets best practice, recording and protocols
- Buy two, get one free with the maintenance suite comprising three courses in two days - the Advanced Maintenance and the new Fleet Maintenance course too.
- Technical Riding Skills Development course for those going wanting more riding development prior to attending their Go-mtb Leader Orientation course.
We are currently working on adding dates for all of these to the course calendar. If you want to be added to the waiting list, drop us a line saying which course you want to know the dates for and we'll let you know as soon as they are up.
