Venue details

Whitehough OEC Whitehough Outdoor Education Centre is one of Lancashire Education's centres, providing outdoor education and activities mainly for school and youth groups based in the county. Adult courses and training are also provided within the recently added building specifically developed for this purpose.

Based at the foot of Pendle Hill (of Witches of Pendle fame), a wide variety of riding is available in the local area. For the Trail Leader courses we use Gisburn Forest or preferably, Tockholes and Darwen Moor areas, and for the Technical Leader courses, Pendle and Waddington Fells.

Whitehough provides both non-residential and residential option courses.

The classroom base at Whitehough provides two classrooms, a large bike store / workshop and a small kitchen area, meaning we can run two concurrent courses and have exclusive use of the area.

Food and Accommodation

Multi day courses at Whitehough are offered as either residential or non-residential. Residential means that included within the costs of the course is shared room accommodation at Whitehough on the two nights of the course, and food from the first day evening meal to the third day lunch.

Non-residential doesn't include accommodation, breakfast or lunch, but does include evening meal as the course runs into the evening and this ensures course continuity for you.

Single day courses at Whitehough don't include accommodation with their cost, but we are usually able to offer an additional 24 hour residential cost which includes the evening meal for the night prior to the course, overnight shared room accommodation, breakfast and lunch.
