CTC courses at Thornbridge Outdoors
Thornbridge Outdoors is Sheffield's Outdoor Education Centre. Providing a range of outdoor
activity, education and environmental development opportunities for school and youth groups,
Thornbridge used to be part of Thornbridge Hall. The 19th century sections remain Grade 2
listed and the centre is now split into three distinct facilities: the Farm (pictured below),
the Lodge, and the fully equipped campers' block. During courses, you get exclusive use of either the
Lodge or the Farm, including the accommodation, refurbished showers, kitchen and classrooms.
Located in the White Peak area of Derbyshire, Thornbridge provides a great range of riding
including the Monsal Trail (which has an old station at Thornbridge) and the classic routes
around Ladybower and Edale. The extensive site includes low and high ropes courses, a climbing boulder and a couple of
mountain bike routes.
Courses at Thornbridge are on a food provided, self-catering basis. Breakfast and packed lunches are provided on a make it yourself basis, and we visit one of the local pubs for some excellent quality food during the two evenings. All food is included within the course costs.
Being based in Derbyshire, Thornbridge is equally accessible from the east and west of the UK.
