Venue details
Devon Discovery are the outdoor education arm of Devon County Council. Working closely with
a wide range of Devon schools and youth groups, as well as providing many adult courses, the Devon
Discovery venues are ideally located.
Pixies Holt (shown top right) is the usual venue for CTC courses at Devon Discovery, although we also use the Dartmoor Training Centre (above). The former provides great moor access from the door, and with two classroom areas, often two courses or more are provided simultaneously here. Based right in the centre of Dartmoor, the latter has fantastic views; all the facilities you might expect in an outdoor centre with a large multi-use room at the heart.
Accommodation is based in larger shared rooms at Devon Discovery, with male and female shower rooms and toilets. Bike storage and cleaning hoses are installed, and the food is all home made with volumes to suit hungry bike riders!
Food and Accommodation
Multi day courses at Devon Discovery are all residential, which means that included within the costs of the course is shared room accommodation at the venue on the two nights of the course, and food from the first day evening meal to the third day lunch. Devon Discovery are unable to offer a non-residential option for these courses, even where you choose not to stay at the venue.
Single day courses at Devon Discovery don't include accommodation within their cost, but we are usually able to offer an additional 24 hour residential cost which includes the evening meal for the night prior to the course, overnight shared room accommodation, breakfast and lunch.
