Go-mtb Awards
Go-mtb has five levels, each split into four parts:
Riding skills
The riding section, develops good riding practice from starting, stopping, and being comfortable and
safe when riding at level 1 through to jumps, line choice and pumping at level 5. Each level progresses and extends
your riding skills ensuring your feel confident in the environment, and are able to practice the skill on your rides.
Sharing the outdoors
Sharing the outdoors is all about the environment we use when we ride. It's about how we consider others, our impacts and what our rights and responsibilities are in the natural environment we use.
First aid
Ensuring that you know what to do, not just if there is an injury, this section also includes how to help make the area and people safe. At higher levels, this section does include a first aid course.
Being independant and self supporting
This section of each award covers eating, drinking, trailside maintenance, where to go
and what to wear and carry.
Each section at each level enables the gaining of a certificate (so 20 certificates all together) when you have achieved it. Your handbook also includes a section to record your riding experiences as you build your skills and capitalise on the opportunities that Go-mtb presents.
Who can attend Go-mtb Awards?
Go-mtb Awards are designed primarily for children, young people and young adults, but are equally applicable to groups of more mature riders
Supported through a great handbook and certificates at each level, Go-mtb is the way to get more from your mountain biking. Helping you develop all the skills you need from learning to ride all the way to jumps, drops and knowing how to head out with your friends and by yourself. As you go through the scheme, you can also access the Go-mtb twitter and facebook pages to get the low down from everyone else involved.
