CTC mountain biking and offroad cycling
CTC is fundamentally there for all cyclists. As the National Cyclists Organisation it is a charitable trust and
has a wide remit to cover all aspects of
non-competitive cycling from setting industry standards through commuting provision, political campaigning to provision of
qualifications.
CTC courses and qualifications
CTC have provided courses and qualifications for many years. Incorportating OTC Training's course portfolio in 2008 exemplified CTC's commitment to cycling education. CTC in the community
Enabling and empowering communities to take up and maintain bike use as part of their daily life, for transport, leisure or recreation is a key focus of CTC. we do this through:
- Cycle Champions project; linking individuals, communities and cycling
- Bike Club; working with our partners Continyou and UK Youth to help groups of young people set up their own rider network
Campaigning
Putting the case for cyclists and mountain bikers, CTC has a highly succesful history of fighting for riders rights. This goes from enabling access to the UK bridleway network many years ago to current pushes for highway code changes and increasing driver awareness.
Provider Accreditation
Assuring safe and quality activities for participants, CTC provides approvals of activity providers for the Learning Outside the Classroom and AdventureMark badges. Of course CTC is also externally verified and checked as well.
